    Mini-Review: Salty Tongue Urban Deli

    The Salty Tongue (213 Carrall Street, 604 915-7258) is one of the growing number of Gastown businesses started by the cool people who are responsible for the Irish Heather, the Shebeen, etc.

    It's a deli and a restaurant and a coffee shop all in one open from 11a.m.-6p.m..  A beautiful, relaxing, casual space chock 'o block with gourmet goodies, cheese, gourmet canned goods and lots of other stuff.  And with a few tables to sit downstairs as well as a big table upstairs.

    The Salty Tongue  serves great lunch specials such as a soup and sandwich combo for about $8.  The food is tasty and flavourful cooked up by the some of the same people who cook at the Irish Heather.
