From the Restaurants dept.
Except for it being a wee bit pricey (the poster for the meal kind of implied that some beer would be included for the $50 price), the Belgian National Day 2005 celebration meal at Chambar was delicious. My favourite dish was the lardons with frisée shown above (and I loved the roast pork especially the crispy skin and the extra "jus" (sauce) that Boris convinced them to bring, mmm!). A tasty bacony texture treat! And it was cool to see Mark, the very funny and charming Chambar bartender, who I last saw at the Waiterblog dinner at Fiction. Can't wait until next year's Belgian day. Maybe we can have a Belgian day every month :-) ?
