Junior's first birthday is just around the corner and it's been an
interesting year to say the least! Of course we've been
completely consumed with all aspects of childrearing and parenting, but
we're fascinated by how our little one's palate is developing!
Of course the early months were pretty basic--breastmilk. We
introduced solids at close to 6 months when he was good and ready and
he progressed to chunky textures in no time. By 8 1/2 months, he
wouldn't let me feed him from a spoon for most meals and insisted on
finger feeding. This meant being creative with what he could eat
and feeling comfortable with the resulting mess.
Now at almost 1 year, he will let me feed him certain foods and he will
finger feed himself very happily and efficiently. He also has
quite the palate! He prefers complex flavours and is very
adventurous in trying new foods. Some of his favourites are
tinolang manok, aloo gobi dosas and asparagus.
He is definitely a product of his parents.
