I received an email from Meg Sheldon, the publicist (note to other publicists, we would prefer that you put this material on your website so that we can link to it!) for Ch'i Restaurant and Lounge (1796 Nanaimo (at 2nd), 604.215.0078, tuesday-sunday 6pm-11pm ) which opens tomorrow. Here's what she wrote in her first email: QUOTE ch'i brings together east-meets-west culinary and cultural traditions with assertive dishes served as 'small plates'. Innovative cocktails. Boutique wine list. Vibrant atmosphere.
UNQUOTE And in her second email after I asked for more info about signature dishes and the staff: QUOTE some of the specialties at ch'i include: tea infused martinis (teatinis!)
hand made roti with curry dipping sauce
grilled chermoula quail with tamarind sauce
gai lan with garlic and oyster sauce
and a great local boutique wine list (quite affordable!) This is their first restaurant - but those involved have alot of experience. The location is an old heritage building, so we will be building the history into the atmosphere.
