Hilarious and misleading ad for German food
Posted by Roland Tanglao on 10/28/04; 12:26:18 AM
    From the Features dept.

German food gets a bad rap, but it ain't bad and ads like these which paint a stereotypical picture of Germany don't help. Like Filipino food, it is more down home and cozy than urbane and sophisticated. And there are tons of delicious regional dishes that never seem to make it outside of the country. Most of the German food you hear about outside of Germany is food from southern German, in particular Bavarian. But although Bavarian food is delicious, there is lots more from all the other regions of Germany. Hmmm, perhaps some day I should day some stories on German food! From GermanFoods.org: The Old World in a New Light (via Darren Barefoot I think):QUOTE
Forget the Lederhosen, oompah bands and traditional German food. Now the largest festival in the world has the taste of today's Germany. Try delicious Oktoberfest Strudel, Zesty Sauerkraut and Prosciutto Pizza or Savory Red Cabbage Salad with Bavarian Smoked Cheese. Top it off with a legendary German brew, crisp Riesling or sparkling mineral water for the drivers. Then invite friends and family to party in the comfort of their own clothes.
