From the Restaurants dept.
Cyprien and I had lunch at the Sage Bistro on Thursday to talk about the NorthernVoice blogging conference on February 19, 2005 and other things. Pictured above is the steak sandwich ($8.95) that I enjoyed. The beef was not overcooked (I think I am turning Cantonese and have picked up their dislike of overcooked and dry meat!); it was juicy and tender. And the accompanying greens formed a nice texture and flavour combination with the meat and bread. The suggested glass of red wine which I tried was a nice touch and a great complement to the sandwich. I definitely must come back for a mini-review (supper beckons methinks!) because the setting is pleasant and the food even more so. Definitely a place to hang out if you are stuck at UBC's "gown town" :-) (which isn't a bad fate mind you!) and you want a quality bite to eat.
