| Habibi's - still some of the best and cheapest food in Vancouver |
Posted by Roland Tanglao on 11/17/03; 10:44:45 PM
From the Restaurants dept.
Barb and I and some friends went tonight to Habibi's. Nothing has changed since David wrote his mini-review of Habibi's back in May 2001. Still some of the best food in Vancouver at some of the cheapest prices.
We went for the full meal deal (two dishes per person at $13.75 each +
tax and tip). There were five of us so there were 10 dishes.
Which turned out to be too much. Next time, if there are five of
us, we'll just get 8 dishes. Wow. A stunning array of flavours;
from Barb's favourite: the tender eggplant in an excellent tsaziki sauce
combined with the texture contrast of crunchy pita strips, to the awesome
parsley punch of the tabouleh to the crunchy falafel to the most
excellent beets with garlic and lime and the chick peas with garlic!
Yum! Honestly all 10 of our dishes were great. Highly recommended
again in 2003.
Here's a photo that doesn't do justice to the food.
