Two days ago, a 3rd Guu
opened. This is a major boost for eating in Gastown! It's
located at #105-375
Water Street
and the telephone number is 604 685-8682. From a quick Google
search, it appears Otokomae means "handsome" in Japanese.
I stumbled across it, while walking down Water Street today.
It's
on the 2nd floor of the building. You have to enter, go past
a
sushi restaurant on your right, and then go up a flight of
stairs and you will be in
Guu. It's confusing, but I am sure they will put up a sign
soon.
I am really looking forward to trying this one out because I love the
other two Guus (original Guu at 838
Thurlow, 604 685-8817, and the Guu with Garlic at 1698
Robson Street,
604 685-8678). I had a quick chat with the staff and they
said
the food is similar (inexpensive home style Japanese food; no
sushi) to the other Guus with a few unique
dishes. Can't wait to try it out!
