Google Ads on VanEats? All restaurants and food related sites need blogs!
Posted by Roland Tanglao on 6/30/03; 10:49:43 PM
    From the Site News dept.

As some of you may or may not know, I have started a weblogging business. However until we get financing of some sort, money is a bit tight.

As a result, I am contemplating putting Google Ads on VanEats in order to raise some money. The ads are unobtrusive I think and are supposed to be topical. In other words they should be food (and hopefully Vancouver related). Here's a screenshot of some possible ads for VanEats (using Aaron's hack) and here's a screenshot of how ads look on my personal website, rolandtanglao.com.

I don't really want to do this, but it seems the least of all possible evils and an easy way to make a little bit of money.

What I really want to do is to help design, launch and maybe even ghostwrite a blog for cool restaurants, cool food shops and cool food people like Bishop's, Lumiere, Barbara Jo's Books to Cooks, Gourmet Warehouse, etc.

Of course, these food blogs would reflect the look and feel of their existing sites. Most importantly, like VanEats, they would showcase the passion that the owners and chefs of these businesses have for food. And they would be frequently updated, like VanEats, to keep the buzz alive!

I am on the edge here! I am sure in 5-10 years time, every restaurant and food site will have a blog-like component that is frequently updated and highlights the passion of the owners and chefs!

If your restaurant, shop or organization (doesn't have to be food related!) wants to have a head start on the future of websites, email me roland@vaneats.com or call me at 604 729 7924 OR leave a comment.

And leave a comment if you want ads on VanEats. Or if you don't want ads!
