Tartine (770 Beach Avenue between Howe and Granville, 604 685-7437) recently opened. Although simple in decor, it's an artisan-style bakery with a small seating area where one can enjoy soup of the day, breads, desserts and coffee. The chocolate pecan pie was perfect - complete with homebaked flavour and appearance. Their potato onion bread which I took home with me was pure comfort food
and went well with some rosemary infused crabapple jelly we made last week.
