Jang Mo Jib Express on Richards now open!
Posted by Roland Tanglao on 11/7/02; 9:20:09 PM
    From the Restaurants dept.

I have been waiting with great anticipation for the opening of Jang Mo Jib Express on Richards.

It opened about a week ago and it rocks just like the other Jang Mo Jib locations at 1719 Robson Street and 1031 Kingsway! The same full bodied and rich beef broth! The same yummy side dishes! And basically the same menu!

On my first visit, I had Beebimbob (also transliterated as bibimbap) which is assorted vegetables and beef on steamed rice with hot chili paste and an egg on top for $7.95. It came with a bowl of their tasty beef broth, barley tea, four side dishes (including kimchi, sprouts, and sweet cooked potato) and a sweet dessert tea. An ideal winter warm up! It really is too much food for one but you can always take it home or better yet split two dishes with a friend.

Next time, I will try out their one and only $5.95 takeout only lunch noodle special.

The room is smaller than the other locations so it may be crowded at peak times but the staff is friendly and the food is good so I don't mind waiting. Check it!

Jang Mo Jib Express, 518 Richards, 604 688-0712
