    Mark Bittman on Vancouver Restaurants
Posted by Roland Tanglao on 10/29/02; 10:30:59 PM
    From the Features dept.

I love almost all the restaurants that Mark talks about in his piece on Vancouver restaurants, Asian Stars Are Bright in Vancouver's Firmament (free subscription required). He and I both love Vij's, Sun Sui Wah (although Barb and I also love Spicy Court which doesn't have the international reputation and fancy decor but has wonderful dim sum at an even more affordable price especially if you order and pay before 11:30), Lumiere and Tojo's as well as Bishop's, and The Raincity Grill. I haven't been to The Pear Tree and Cioppino's Enoteca but they are definitely on our list to try

And I agree that quality-wise and price-wise, Asian food in Vancouver is some of the world's best.

But don't reply rely on the critics! Try some of these restaurants yourself and let us know (free and painless membership required)!

    The Julie/Julia Project
Posted by Roland Tanglao on 10/29/02; 9:32:11 PM
    From the Features dept.

The Julie/Julia Project is Julie Powell's riveting, irreverent and funny blog of her daily attempts to cook, in order, all 536 recipes in Julia Child's classic 1961 cookbook, Mastering the Art of French cooking. Read it (I recommend starting from the beginning in August and working your way sequentially through. WARNING: it's addictive!) and weep with joy and pain as Julie works her way through Julia's canon.
