    Mini-mini Review: Dockside Brewing Company
Posted by Roland Tanglao on 8/13/01; 11:20:11 PM
    From the Restaurants dept.

My brother-in-law Ted comes to town approximately twice a year from Toronto on business. Most of the time, he stays at the Granville Island Hotel.

Last night we tried the restaurant attached to the hotel, The Dockside Brewing Company. It was a beautiful night so we started out at the bar which has a panaromic view of False Creek.

We then moved to the patio which is nicely set up for al fresco dining. Heaters are strategically placed to help cope with the Vancouver cool nights. And the food is good too. We had some thin-crust style Pizza with mushrooms, coriander and tomatoes which was very good; and Ted tried the grill special, wild BC sockeye salmon and I had the grilled half chicken.

I'm not a big salmon fan, but Ted's salmon was good; not overcooked and I really enjoyed the little bit that I tried! And the grilled chicken was yummy (not as yummy as Barb's but definitely worth ordering). All in all it's a great place to hang out and have some fine casual dining while enjoying spectacular views of False Creek.
